Speculative Fiction as Spell Work

One of the most powerful gifts a writer has is imagination, and one way writers throughout history have used that power is to write about new imagined futures and help others see the possibilities of what could be.

As we face increasing authoritarian rule and an escalating climate crisis, the work of building a better world has never been more vital.

In this generative workshop, we’ll get inspiration from speculative fiction authors who have conjured utopias, matriarchies, communal societies, and more. After an energy healing meditation, we’ll write together—and learn how we can use our own imaginative power for good.
